Classical - Cadmus and Harmonia
« Previous Page | Back to Tile Search | Printable View
Here, we have hand painted a tile panel copying the work of Evelyn de Morgan, a nineteenth century preraphaelite painter. Titled Cadmus and Harmonia the painting depicts one of the old Greek legends these painters seemed to like so much. Here Cadmus apparently annoyed the Gods by killing a sacred snake so they turned him into one and then turned his wife into a snake too. Weird - but a wonderful image we hope you will agree.
This 36 tile panel (5"tiles) can be commissioned for £900 and would look fabulous in a really dramatic Victorian style bathroom.
